Have You Been Feeling Confused Lately?
You might be faced with lots of options, leaving you unsure about what to do.
Or maybe God has blessed you with various gifts, skills and different talents but you’re overwhelmed by them all. Perhaps you have been trying to figure out how to maximise them but have no idea on where to start.
Or could it be that confusion has come about because you’re experiencing feelings of dissatisfaction? Maybe you’re feeling unclear or even lost about the unhappiness in your heart that might be related to a relationship, your career or your personal growth.
Sis, You Are Not Alone.
Confusion is not an abnormal feeling. In fact, experiencing periods of confusion is very normal. However, it’s not a state that God desires us to remain in. His desire for us is to move forward in His purposes for our lives, and ultimately enjoy the peace that He promises us as His daughters.
Here are 5 ways to help you gain clarity and direction:
Developing a Relationship with God is Key
Ultimately, God has a plan for our lives. His plans for our lives are good. His intentions are pure. He knows us and understands what we need in every season. Jeremiah 29:11 reminds us of this truth.
An authentic relationship with God, gives room for Him to speak words of affirmation and assurance, in those seasons of doubt. It’s an opportunity for God to give you instructions in regards to what your next steps should be. (Proverbs 3:3-4, John 14:1)
Understanding and Knowing YOUR Season
You have to ask yourself; does the season permit you to follow through with what you want to do? Is it really the right time for you to be pursuing that? Does your schedule give room for it? Do you have the mental, physical and spiritual capacity to move forward with said plan/idea/opportunity? Are you actually ready?!
Stop bringing what is meant to bud in spring, into your winter! Assess your season. (Ecclesiastes 3:1-8)
Recognise the One Thing
Identify the one thing amongst the many things that will serve as stepping stones for everything else you want to achieve. Oprah didn’t launch her TV show, magazine, movies, etc, all at once. She started in TV and that opened doors for other opportunities! Everyone starts somewhere. What is the one thing, that will lead you to the many things that God has laid on your heart?
Put it on Paper
A brain dump is NECESSARY. Write the vision and make it plain….put everything on your mind on paper. EVERYTHING! It doesn’t need to make sense. Once you’re done, you can begin to sort through the clutter. For example, you may find that some of the things on your mind need further exploration. There might be other things you wrote down that you might need to strikethrough, or cross out altogether.
This is why journaling daily helps to gain clarity of what is happening within. When everything is in black and white you have a much better chance of being able to identify the pressure points.
Through this you can also create prayer points and assign scriptures (Truth). It’s also important to talk through your thoughts and ideas with someone you trust. Conversations bring clarity! (Isaiah 26:3, Philippians 4:8)
Dream with God
Prayerfully create a plan with your Father. He desires you to be clear minded and at peace. Gods desire is not for you to remain in a state of confusion. So partner with Him to live the life of your dreams, from the inside out. (Proverbs 31:25 AMP, Proverbs 19:21, Proverbs 16:1-3)
Let’s Pray
Lord, may the grace of the sons of Issachar rest upon me. May I have the discernment to identify the times and the seasons.
Give me the grace to stay focused on You, so I can bask in your peace. You have plans for my life and your plans are good. You are good to me, so give me the courage to receive this truth daily.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
