If you need peace, read this!

I leave the gift of peace with you—my peace. Not the kind of fragile peace given by the world, but my perfect peace. Don’t yield to fear or be troubled in your hearts—instead, be courageous!
John 14:27

The feelings of anxiety and fear are natural responses to times of hardship and uncertainty. However, as believers, we aren’t called to be governed by those feelings.
If you’ve been feeling low, anxious, fearful or even depressed as a result of the current climate. Here are some prayers and declarations taken from scripture, that you can use.

Isaiah 26:3
You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You Because he trusts in You.
Prayer – I choose to put my trust in you, in the midst of uncertainty. Lord, help me to keep my eyes on you. So I can gain constant peace!

1 John 4:18
There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.
Prayer – I believe that fear is not of you Father. Reveal your deep love for me each day and may I become aware of it. Let that love be perfected in me, so fear has no room to reign through me.

Colossians 3:15
Let your heart be always guided by the peace of the Anointed One, who called you to peace as part of his one body. And always be thankful.
Prayer – I am called to peace, in you. So may the peace that You give continue to rule my heart and mind. May I make decisions from a place of peace and not a place of fear.

Isaiah 54:10
Even if the mountains were to crumble and the hills disappear, my heart of steadfast, faithful love will never leave you, and my covenant of peace with you will never be shaken,” says Yahweh, whose love and compassion will never give up on you.
Prayer – I come into agreement with your word, that no matter what happens around me. Your love will remain constant and I will always have access to your peace.

In seasons of uncertainty, make every effort to guard your peace, disconnect from things that trigger those negative feelings. Be intentional about doing things that spark joy, whether that’s watching some of the shows you love, to virtually meeting up with your peoples or creating. Whatever it is that puts you at ease, do it.

Take moments out of your day, to be still. Don’t allow yourself to get overwhelmed by things you can’t control. Above all, set your attention on God and His truth in the word. He is in control!
